Romance comic books outsold nearly all other genres in the early 50’s, including superhero comics. These books offered tawdry tales of heartache and redemption as well as practical romantic advice. We bring select masterpieces of love to life in the Valentine’s Day Panorama of Love. You’ll see performances of vintage comic book stories and other pop culture gems, while swooning to live music by the lovelorn surf band, “The Noble Gasses,” and the smoldering voice of our chanteuse! It’s the perfect Valentine’s Weekend date, full of romance and music, whether you’re with that special some one, hoping to hook up with some one or just defiantly happy to be single.

Before slasher films and torture porn, and before the Comics Code Authority sanitized the industry in the mid-‘50s, kids gobbled up horrific tales of murder and the occult in comic books. We bring select masterpieces of Pre-Code Comic Book terror to life in the Panorama of Horrors Spook Show. The show is built around radio program-style performances of vintage comic book stories and other pop culture gems, along with live sound fx, music and projected art. The evening also includes short acts, the seance, sultry singing, prizes, and live music. This show is packed with thrills such as 1953’s Mad Hate of Dr. Zart! and music by members of the ghastly surf band, “The Noble Gasses”! 

Arrive early and get a Zombie makeover by one of our undead make-up artists. They’re dying to help!

Saturday, August 27, see us back at the world-famous Meltdown Comics on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Nerdist Theater at Meltdown will host our Comic Book Summer Camp. We're excited to be a part of the meteoric rise of Meltdown's live performances.

The new show combines performances of a couple of zany vinatge comic book stories along with live musical numbers, original art and other acts. The theme is summer! Our Captured Aural Phantasy Camp Director will guide you through tales of summer vacation, summer fun and summer love. Is that the Meatballs CIT song the audience is singing along to? We'll find out at the show.

The show starts at 8, but we're joined by the surf band "The Noble Gasses" for a special pre-show musical treat beforehand.
